Content policy

I'm Artur, and I make Salut Tech on my own. Videos about how games work need other people's games, footage, music and research. Here's how I use them and credit them, and what to do if something of yours ended up in a video.

The short version

  • I try to back every fact in a video with a source, listed on the video's page on this site.
  • Every clip, track and image from someone else is credited, with a link and its license.
  • Trailers and other creators' videos appear only in short excerpts, for commentary.
  • If you own something I used and you're not happy with it, email me before filing a claim. I'll fix the credit or cut it.
  • You're free to share, embed and show my videos, as long as you credit me and treat the work fairly.

Sources

I try to give every claim a source you can check, and I prefer primary ones: patch notes, developer statements, documentation and original interviews. Things the community found but nobody confirmed are labelled as unconfirmed. Each video's page lists its sources with numbers, so you can find the one behind a specific claim.

Footage, music and images

When I can't record gameplay myself, I use clips published under Creative Commons licenses (mostly CC BY 3.0 and 4.0). Each one is credited by name, with a link to the original, its license and a note on what I changed, usually that it was cut, cropped and muted. Music and images come from free or Creative Commons libraries and are credited the same way.

Trailers, articles and moments from other creators' videos appear only when they are what I'm talking about, in short excerpts that I comment on. Their owners keep all rights, and they're credited in the description and on the video's page. Using someone's material doesn't mean they endorse the video.

Games and trademarks

Game titles, logos and characters belong to their publishers and developers. Salut Tech isn't affiliated with or sponsored by any of them. If a video is ever sponsored, it will say so clearly.

Corrections

If I get something wrong, I fix it in the open: each video page has a Corrections section with dated entries, and bigger mistakes also get a pinned comment under the video.

If you own something I used

Please email [email protected] before filing a claim on YouTube. Send the video link, the timestamp and what you'd like: a corrected credit or removal. I'll fix the credit, or cut or replace the material with YouTube's editor.

Using Salut Tech videos

Feel free to share and embed my videos anywhere: on websites, in articles, forums, newsletters, lessons, presentations or public screenings. You can also use short clips for commentary, reviews, news or education. All I ask is a bit of respect for the work:

  • credit Salut Tech and link to the original video,
  • don't cut or frame what I said to mean something I didn't,
  • don't re-upload whole videos as your own,
  • don't use the Salut Tech name, logo or thumbnails in a way that suggests I endorse your content.

For commercial use or anything else, just ask at [email protected].
